Buy a Bed 2011

In 2011 the Buy a Bed campaign was launched with a target of £5,000 to buy new beds, mattresses and bedding for pupils in the special home in Ndania.  A bed cost £13 to build.  Not only are we providing better facilities for students to sleep in but also generating employment in the local area. 

During a visit in July 2011 staff and students from Burnside Business and Enterprise College and Mrs Marie Rooney from Beacon Hill saw evidence of the first few beds being delivered.  Mrs Rooney also facilitated the mattresses being purchased during the visit.   This campaign is well on its way to achieving its target.
