Burnside is a specialist school for Business & Enterprise and a hub for other Business & Enterprise schools in the Tyne & Wear Area.

The specialist status is reflected throughout the school and promotes equality and equity. The specialist status is a joint venture between Burnside and Beacon Hill, whom Burnside have been in partnership for the past 17 years.

Burnside is a large school with a current student population of approximately 1500 students ranging from the age of 11 to 18. It is located in Wallsend at the Eastern end of Hadrian's Wall, near to Newcastle upon Tyne in the North of England.
